Mentoring for School Reps
Arts Are Essential offers connections and opportunities that are so important for all of us, enrichment coordinators and artists alike. We provide a way to bring together news about arts in education programs.
Being the Cultural Enrichment Coordinator for your school is a very important responsibility and comes with a learning curve. We are a group of (mostly) volunteers with experience who want to share our knowledge with you.

FROM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR JEAN BUTLER
My story begins over 40 years ago in early 1980's booking teaching artists into my children's elementary school. My experience is in the school and as an agent for artists. I have served on many non-profit boards in many capacities in the teaching artist and arts in education arena.
I believe that regardless of background, talents, ability or financial circumstances, all students and family audiences deserve access to the rich educational opportunities provided by the arts.
In 2003, I incorporated my DBA (Doing Business As) into a non-profit 501(c)3 Corporation dedicated to bringing arts in education to students throughout the Northeast.
I coordinate the Cultural Exchange Program: The Senegal America Project. I am excited by thoughts of current and future cultural exchanges with artists from around the world. I am also always considering the possibility of Student Representatives and Educators coming with us on our next cultural educational trips abroad.
I look forward to working with you as you gain experience setting up your arts enrichment programs!
